Greenport ShellabrationSHELLABRATION!!!

December 6 & 7 2014 – Noon to 4 p.m.

SHELLABRATION is a unique opportunity to enjoy the ultra-fresh shellfish of Peconic Bay! Taste the finest North Fork Wine!

For two days, you will be able to amble and sample the very best culinary creations of Greenport’s leading Chefs. Fourteen participating restaurants will offer $5 tapas-sized portions of their finest local shellfish creations. Local wineries will offer $3 wine tastings. Full glass options will also be available.

The bounty of the North Fork will come together in a delicious culinary walk that celebrates the recent regeneration of Peconic Bay.

WHERE: Online sales are now closed. Please purchase tickets on either Saturday or Sunday at Greenport Harbor Brewery, 234 Carpenter St. or at Little Creek Oyster Company at 37 Front Street (down Bootleg Alley). Participants can pick up a tour map at either location.

HOW: Your wristband entitles you to the first tasting of the day–a free glass of Greenport Harbor Ale, and a SPAT sponsored raw bar tasting of Clams and Oysters. You will also receive your tour map pinpointing the participating restaurants.

Profits from wristband sales will go to the Southold Project in Aquaculture Training (SPAT) www.spatcornell.org and Community Action Southold Town (CAST).

CAST was founded in 1965 as a safety net for Southold families from Laurel to Orient Point. We help our neighbors in need in the areas of nutrition, employment, energy, housing and education.

SPAT was created to encourage local citizens to become involved in restoring shellfish to the local waters. Volunteers raise scallops, oysters and clams and then populate the local bays where they spawn and further enrich once-depleted areas. Click here to find out more about SPAT.
